SafeEx Established

SafeEx was founded with a clear purpose: to improve how Ex inspections and maintenance are performed in the Oil & Gas industry. From day one, our focus has been practical execution — building solutions that work in hazardous areas, not just in theory. The mission was simple: create safer operations through structured, field-driven systems.

1st Digital Solution ~ Proof of Concept

The first SafeEx digital solution was released for Zone 1 PDAs. At a time when paper-based workflows were still standard, SafeEx introduced a field-ready digital structure built specifically for hazardous environments. This marked the beginning of combining Ex expertise with purpose-built technology.

1st Orders Signed

The first major contracts were secured. On FPSO Peregrino in Brazil, SafeEx delivered a five-year software and Ex maintenance contract. In Denmark, INEOS production platforms began an Ex maintenance collaboration that continues today. The concept moved from idea to operational reality.

2nd Software Generation for Tablets ~ Proof of Concept

The second generation of SafeEx software was developed for tablets, improving usability and expanding field capabilities. This milestone also marked the formal establishment of SafeEx as a dedicated software company. The direction was clear: scalable digital tools rooted in hands-on Ex knowledge.

Seadrill Projects

SafeEx expanded into both offshore and onshore environments. The first onshore implementation was delivered to an Irish distillery, followed by 12 Seadrill projects. These deployments reinforced the ability to operate across different asset types and regulatory contexts.

3rd Software Generation

The third major software generation introduced a platform capable of handling multiple maintenance and inspection disciplines. SafeEx evolved from a focused Ex tool into a structured maintenance ecosystem. Digital compliance became systematic rather than isolated.

TotalEnergies UK ~ Proof of Scale

After four years of collaboration, SafeEx was approved for use across all UK assets under a five-year maintenance contract via PBS Group. This was proof of scale. SafeEx was no longer a pilot solution — it was validated for portfolio-wide deployment.

INPEX Australia

SafeEx secured a maintenance contract on the world’s largest LNG project, Ichthys. The delivery covered Ex equipment across offshore and onshore assets. Operating at this scale required structured processes, digital traceability, and deep field expertise.

MODEC Inc.

SafeEx Cloud was delivered as a SaaS solution to MODEC on FPSO MV21 and MV25. This marked the transition into a fully scalable Software-as-a-Service model. Digital infrastructure became globally deployable.

Saipem S.p.A.

The first structured Compliance-as-a-Service (CaaS) program was delivered on FPSO Kaombo Norte and Kaombo Sul. SafeEx took responsibility not only for software, but for operational compliance execution. Technology and field delivery became one integrated model.

One Stop Solution ~ Proof of Concept

SafeEx CaaS was formally established as a structured end-to-end operating model. The concept combined software, hardware, expertise, and execution into a single responsibility framework. Compliance moved from fragmented ownership to a unified solution.

CaaS Execution ~ Proof of Scale

A full CaaS program was successfully delivered with Golar LNG, executed on schedule and validating the SafeEx operational model. Structured compliance delivery at scale was proven in practice.

MODEC Inc.

A CaaS project was delivered on FPSO Errea Wittu (Uaru), reinforcing the ability to execute structured compliance programs in complex offshore environments.

Scaling Strategy

A five-year strategy was launched, focused on strengthening core capabilities and deepening collaboration with existing clients. The emphasis shifted toward refinement, optimisation, and structured growth.

SafeEx Cloud’s 4th Major Upgrade

The next major evolution of SafeEx Cloud is in development. Built in close collaboration with existing clients and our in-house Senior Ex Specialists, the upgrade is founded on clear non-negotiables: stronger risk governance, sharper prioritisation, and digital structure that reflects real operational responsibility. This is Risk-Based Inspection taken further — not as a feature, but as a discipline embedded into the platform architecture.
